Dogs and Cats..

My girlfriend took me out the other day...

I had a moment of weakness..

(actually, that could happen a lot!.. but I do fight it ..most of the time)

We were in Walmart and I found this really squishy, soft and silky pound puppy.  Ok, well it isn't a pound puppy (anyone out there remember pound puppies?).  But it is soft and silky and squishy.. and I found myself carrying it around the store talking to it .   I got a number of strange looks.. heh.

One woman even laughed!  .. at which time my friend Dorothy threatened to leave me in the store while I mumbled on to the dog..heh.

I told myself it was for Booboo.. something he could cuddle up to because he still misses his fellow kitties . .. and he was only 5.00! (usually really soft stuffed animals are quite more expensive)

Yep.. that's the ticket...that's what I told myself.  The dog is for Boo.  So I brought him home.

Boo wasn't that interested when I showed him to him. Oh well.. ..

I smiled to myself and put him on the arm of the loveseat, where he resides so that I can touch him each time I leave or enter the livingroom.

He's the perfect dog!   Cheap to feed!  And I don't have to walk him!  He's quiet.. so he doesn't bother the neighbors!   And!.. And! he doesn't beg for half of my dinner!

I decided to call him Fetch.  He hasn't learned how yet.. but ya know.. eventually...

Anyway.. that's my story and i'm sticking to it!

As for the cat....

I wanted you all to have an idea of what I go thru at about 4 or 5 am every morning...

... just for..  ya know..

... sympathy!

Oh, I'm posting that video on Youtube for my cat-loving friend Joanna!

By the way, I was visiting a local (Kansas City) book blog and saw you had left a comment. You get around, lady.

I love that video! XD I get that from my cat too, but thankfully not when I am sleeping. He likes to bug me when I'm at my computer. He'll sit next to my desk chair and meowwwwwwww. If that doesn't work, he'll put his front paws on my armrest and tap at my arm. If I -still- don't pay attention to him, he'll jump up on the back of my chair and give me a good yowl right in my ear. By then I generally relent and pet him a bit. Then he flops over and falls down between my head and the back of my chair. He makes a nice warm neckrest!

I have a weakness for stuffed animals myself. They all live in my daughter's room now, and take up a good bit of space. I had a hammock for them at one time, but the sheer weight pulled the anchors for the darn thing right out of the wall. So now they sit on the floor.

Aw, that's an adorable little dog! I have a hard time resisting stuffed animals with sweet little faces. When I came home from London earlier this year, I was wandering around Heathrow, killing time before my flight left, and the Harrod's duty-free shop had these really sweet little stuffed bears. I also got some odd looks in airports on the way home, with my teddy bear tucked under my arm. :P

donna: email you!

Nymeth: thanks! I can use all I can get lol lol

Hi Asara lol... oh boy my cat does the meowing at the computer chair and touching my arm with his paw..and if I look down at him he plops down on the floor showing his belly to get rubbed!!

Jenny: i think if females like stuffed animals as a kid.. they never outgrow it. not sure why that is..but it is !

I have trouble resisting stuffed animals also! I have quite a few here, but the place is small, so most of them are stored in my storage unit for now. I miss having them all out and scattered thruout the house :(

I love those cat videos. There are a couple of different ones AND the person who makes them just came out with a book! I've seen the book on a couple of people's blogs this last week.

I vote for the pound puppy. Have a couple of stuffed animals as well. Mine are a bit weird though, a turtle, a crab, a lion and Opus. Not exactly cuddly but they are cute, especially the turtle and Opus with his penquin lust heart pillow.
The cartoon totally showed cat techniques 101.
Got done with my workout, tired now, and am going out with friends in about an hour for supper, so this is short. Have a good weekend. Vala

I absolutely love Fetch! He is truly the perfect dog (not that I'd trade mine in...). I met a six month old dog today that goes through a 45 pound bag of dog food a week. He's a Neapolitian Mastiff who will eventually make Riley look small. I'd take Fetch over that dog, let me tell you.

The video is priceless. I'm fortunate in that my cats don't do that but Max for some strange reason woke me at 12:30 today (remember I'm working nights and sleeping days). I didn't get up and he settled down and I went back to sleep for a couple of hours. Not a routine I want him to get in.

What an adorable dog! (I have a big weakness for stuffed toys too, especially the really soft ones.)

And Simon's Cat is great, isn't it? ^-^ I like those clips so much. Our cats don't do this so much - at least not the meowing. Genki is very fond of sticking his paw out and getting in the way. ^-~ They're al banned from my room, though, because of the dresses hanging around in it. It's my parents have to deal with them. When they were on vacation the last time I had three instead of one horridly affectionate cats. So I thought I'd spend a night or so in my parents' bed. Worst night I've had in ages! Cats... You wonder why you love them, and then they start purring.

Funny, I'd never come across Simon's Cat before you mentioned it, Pat. It's one of the cleverest cartoons I've ever seen.

And your new 'puppy' is gorgeous!!!
