Margaritaville

The News about aol and my blog continues to weigh heavy on me.

I need a drink! Maybe several!

Photobucket

I just wanted to remind anyone who ever thought about checking in some of my archives that, since I don't know the outcome of all of this that you might want to consider scrolling through some it while you can.

There are many photo's of my friend DeForest Kelley in there and if you go back far enough there are posts with photo's of me as a teenager!! (back in the days of dinosaurs and such! )

Here's a few links to some posts from other halloweens and posts concerning DeForest if you are interested but don't want to dig too deep into archives:

I didn't, and I use Goggle Reader. I think the reader only considers the post new if it has the date of that very same day. So if you edit a post the day you first publish it, it will appear on people's readers again. But if you edit something that is in your archives it won't. At least that's what I think...I've been editing my older posts to include links to other reviews, and maybe I've been flooding people's readers without knowing :P

PS: I want to echo everyone's feelings in the comments to your last post...I hope you won't stop blogging. We would all miss you so much! You're such an important part of this community.

awww, thanks Nymeth. It's too early to tell. I'm trying to let it absorb..and wishing it would go away like a bad dream lol. If I do stop blogging, and I don't want to but right now i feel like it's all crashing down around me, 3 yrs of trying to make something your own. It's my own fault. the old blogger (which I still have a template not a layout because it's the only one I can do at least some things in) i got mad at how it took so long to load photo's and then it just seemed so limited and it was just too easy to do it all in aol and copy and paste to blogspot. Blogspot is still very strange in that if you do your write up in Word and paste it into blogspot it all runs together and kills the formatting. For all intents and purposes, you should be able to type it outside of blogspot and copy it in. oh well. I keep going off on the subject.. sorry 'bout that lol.. I've been going thru my archives feeling sorry for myself LOL.. sheesh

I love all of these old posts! I remember many of them just by the titles of them. And let me tell you something missy! ;) You better not stop blogging! I seriously don't know what I'd do without you here. It would be like a big hole in the blogosphere...seriously. I have the same problem by the way with Wordpress as far as copying and pasting from Word. Doesn't work! Screws up the formatting. That's what I did with my interview with John Lawson and it came out awful!

chris: trying to make myself calm down. When ya have to damn little it hurts more than I can say to loose any of what's left... I'm still hoping aol will find a way to help...but I'm not holding my breath either.

Just sitting here listening to the rain pouring down outside and enjoying your wonderful posts and stories, Pat. I can only echo what everyone else has said about your blogging future. Don't leave us!!! The blogging world would be a much poorer place without you.

Add my voice to those saying please don't stop blogging!!!

And, just to make you feel better . . . I'm so tech-stupid that I don't quite understand the deal. Are you saying when AOL deletes everything it'll disappear off the blog?

Don't go! Please don't go! I just found you! I have blogger too so I know how annoying it is too - I tend to lose posts because blogger doesnt like me writing for a long period of time! I've thought of moving to Wordpress, because I can't get the look of my blog to change the way others do theirs...but you are such a big part of book blogging!

bookfool.. when aol deletes their journals and web space that holds the uploaded photo's then all my photo's disappear because they are all uploaded on aol. Since I found out I now upload to photobucket but that won't help my 3,000 pics on aol that are in my blogspot blog

hello susan: I don't know yet.. have to see what the shock of the pictures being gone does to me... by then I will have a months worth of posts that it won't happen to, so we'll see

No I don't think so. Sometimes Google Reader will do what you're talking about but I didn't notice it. Wait a second... you can't stop blogging! I'd have to cry!

I have no idea how to get alerts yet. I have a lot to learn. Now I know why you mirrored your journal here so long ago. You one smart lady.

shelly: I never sign up for any sort of alert or read the blogs in a reader.. i simply go thru them all by clicking on the address in "favorites"..

bookfool: are you getting a lot of alerts/feeds while I fix photo's?? No one has said they are yet so I assumed no one was getting them
